You shouldn't need to do the above things again, though you can update from time to time. OK, now your build environment is set up. Place C:\Users\UserName\.platformio\penv\Scripts at the beginning of the PATH list.Install PlatformIO Core - I didn't want to set up the full IDE or VS Code, since I'm only making small edits and compiling. - download/install and put it in your PATH. ![]() Make minor edits to C++ code, such as commenting or un-commenting lines, to edit the configuration files.Find files quickly by name ( Everything search).Open a terminal window, change directories, run commands.The things in parentheses above aren't the only solutions, just what I use. Note: The major bullets are general strategic steps. Nobody seemed to give complete instructions for a command-line installation in Windows without using VS Code. In order to learn this, I had to look through several documents on the Marlin site (especially, but there are others) and also watch a YouTube tutorial ( ) to configure and compile Marlin with the options I wanted.
